I won­der about the cri­te­ria that were used in the C. dif­fi­cile se­quenc­ing pa­per to dis­tin­guish dif­fer­ent strains. I seem to re­mem­ber read­ing that there can be as much vari­a­tion in the
16S rRNA se­quences within a species as there is be­tween those of re­lated species.
