Rob Ed­wards, As­so­ciate Blog­ger

Rob Ed­wards is a mi­cro­bi­ol­o­gist and com­puter sci­en­tist. He re­ceived his Ph. D. in bac­te­r­ial ge­net­ics from the Uni­ver­sity of Sus­sex, UK, and has been at the fore­front of bac­te­r­ial patho­gen­e­sis, ge­nomics, and metage­nomics re­search. Most re­cently, Rob is fo­cused on us­ing com­pu­ta­tional sci­ence to un­der­stand the role of phages in mi­cro­bial evo­lu­tion.

Rob is an As­sis­tant Pro­fes­sor in the Com­puter Sci­ences De­part­ment and Com­pu­ta­tional Sci­ences Re­search Cen­ter, as well as an As­sis­tant Pro­fes­sor in the Bi­ol­ogy De­part­ment, at San Diego State Uni­ver­sity.
